Kitchen Assistant Wanted at Lycksele Hospital

Lycksele Hospital is a moderately sized hospital in the interior of Västerbotten. The medical department is part of the Medical Center of Southern Lapland. The clinic also includes a Dialysis Department, Rehabilitation and Stroke Department, Medical Reception, and Rehabilitation Unit.

The department is a medical acute care unit and provides round-the-clock care. There are 16 patient beds in the department. The staff includes nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, discharge coordinators, receptionists, and kitchen assistants. We also have close collaboration with other professional categories such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech therapists, and social workers.

We care for many patients with various medical conditions, such as heart diseases, lung diseases, infections, diabetes, and end-of-life care. We have relatively short hospital stays and work in teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a kitchen assistant with us, you provide important service and enable efforts that affect many.

The work as a kitchen assistant is performed in the department kitchen, preparing, organizing, and cleaning up breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. We have a catering system where we heat chilled food from portion packages in the microwave for lunch and dinner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed high school education. Training in care service and experience as a kitchen assistant is an advantage, but not a requirement. You should understand and be able to communicate in Swedish.

It is important that you have a good attitude towards staff, patients, and relatives in a hospital environment. If you enjoy interacting with people, are social, and have a knack for service, this is the right place for you. If you are flexible, enjoy working in teams as well as independently, and are reliable and meticulous, you possess the right qualities for the job.
